Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
GoalGetr is operated by N&P Technologies LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy (under the GDPR, we are its “controller”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.
- Sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook: If you sign in with one of these services, we receive your name, your email address, and an ID for your account with that service. We never receive your password for it. With Sign in with Apple, the email address can be a private relay address that forwards to you, and we also keep a token from Apple so we can revoke GoalGetr’s access when you delete your account.
- Apple Health: If you fill a goal from Apple Health, GoalGetr reads, on your phone, only the source you link it to: each day’s steps, workout or exercise minutes, active calories, walking and running distance, water, mindful minutes or hours asleep this week. It reads them also while the app is closed, when Health has something new. It saves those amounts as the goal’s progress, as if you’d typed them, and nothing else from Health ever reaches us. If you share the goal with a group, its members see its progress, as they do for any goal you share. You choose this goal by goal: turn it off in the goal (Fill From Apple Health, then Off), or take back GoalGetr’s access in the Settings app (Health, then Data Access & Devices). Amounts already saved stay with the goal until you delete it or your account. We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, never share it beyond the groups you choose, and never write to Health.
- Passkeys: If you set up a passkey to sign in with Face ID, we keep its public key, the name of the device you set it up on, and when you added it and last used it. The private key that signs you in stays in your Apple account’s iCloud Keychain and never reaches us.
- Profile Information: Any additional information you choose to add to your profile.
- Profile Picture: If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we save the link to your profile picture from that service. The other members of your groups see it next to your name.
- Goal Data: Information about your goals, progress, and achievements that you enter into the app, including reminders you set on your goals, when you plan to do them, and the weeks you pause for a break.
- Group Information: Data related to groups you create or join, including group names, the messages you post on group message boards, your reactions, and the cheers and nudges you send to and get from other members. The other members of your groups see your name, your avatar and the room it stands in, your title, the badges you have earned and when, your points, and the goals you share with the group and the challenges you take part in. Each Monday, the group’s weekly recap on its message board names the members who did best with the goals they share there, and those of them on a streak of a week or more. Anyone with a group’s invite link, signed in or not, sees the name and photo of the person who runs the group.
- Feedback: If you use Send Feedback in the app, we receive what you write and whether it’s an idea or a problem as a notice in our team’s Slack (below), with your name, your email address (so we can reply), your account ID, and your app version, iOS version and phone model, and answer you by email from our support inbox.
- Support Requests: If you use the form on our Help & Support page, we receive your name, email address and message as a notice in our team’s Slack (below), and answer you by email from our support inbox.
- Reports and Blocks: If you report a message, we keep the report: the reason, any details you add, and a copy of the message. If you block someone, we keep your list of blocked people.
- Store and Avatar Data: Your token balance, the items you own, and your avatar: how it looks (body type, skin tone, hair and colours), what it wears, and the room it stands in. Also the badges you earn and when, and the monthly challenges you win.
- Subscription and Purchase Information: If you subscribe, we keep the status of your subscription (such as active or expired), the plan you chose and the price the app showed you for it, and its start and end dates. You pay through Apple, so we never see your payment details. RevenueCat, the service that manages subscriptions for us, receives your GoalGetr account ID and the details of your purchase from Apple.
Automatically Collected Information
When you use our app, we may automatically collect:
- Device Information: Your device’s time zone, and, when you send us feedback, the app version, iOS version and phone model.
- Push Notification Token: If you allow notifications, a token that identifies your device to the push notification services. We keep it so we can send you reminders and group updates.
- Crash Reports: If a screen in the app fails, the error, the screen’s name, the app version, iOS version and phone model are sent to our team, with no name or email. We keep nothing of it beyond the notice to our team.
- Usage Data: When you last used the app, and the steps toward a subscription below.
- Steps Toward a Subscription: When you sign up and how, join a group by invite, see the subscription screen (and what opened it), tap a plan or Commit to Goals, and start, renew, cancel or end a free trial or a subscription. We keep these with your account on our own servers, use them only to see how many people try and keep GoalGetr Premium, and never share them.
- Timezone: Your device’s timezone setting to provide accurate notifications and scheduling.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Send you notifications and reminders about your goals
- Enable group features and social interactions
- Manage your subscription, give you access to the features it includes, and remind you before a free trial ends, naming its price where we have it
- Review reported content and act on what breaks our Terms of Service, for example by removing messages, removing people from groups, or suspending accounts
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- Send you technical notices, updates, and security alerts
- Count the steps toward a subscription, to improve the app
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly agree to share information with other users (e.g., in groups).
- Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist us in operating our services: cloud hosting and database storage in the United States (Amazon Web Services and MongoDB Atlas), and email delivery (Resend), which also carries report alerts to our moderation team and the feedback you send us.
- Team Notices: Our team gets notices in Slack, our workspace, of sign-ups, subscription changes, new groups, and the feedback and support requests you send us, with your name and, for those, their words, and of crash reports, with no name. A report of a message shows the names of who reported it and who wrote it, the reason, any note added, and the message’s words, so we can act on it quickly. They never include your email address, except on feedback and support requests so we can answer them.
- Subscription Provider: RevenueCat manages subscriptions for us. It receives your GoalGetr account ID and the details of your purchase from Apple, and tells us whether your subscription is active.
- Push Notification Services: To send you a notification, we pass its text (for example the name of a goal, the name of a group, or the start of a message) and your push token to Expo’s push notification service, which hands it to Apple’s push notification service to reach your device.
- Sign-in Providers: If you used Sign in with Apple, we contact Apple to revoke GoalGetr’s access when you delete your account.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure password hashing, and regular security assessments.
Where Your Data Is Stored
Our servers and database are in the United States. If you use GoalGetr from another country, your information is sent to the United States to be stored and processed there.
What We Never Receive
Some features use your iPhone’s own data, and never send it to us:
- Calendar: If you turn on Show Goals in Calendar, GoalGetr adds your goals’ days to its own “GoalGetr” calendar, and only ever changes that calendar. To find it, make it and keep it up to date, GoalGetr reads the list of your calendars and calendar accounts, and the events in its own calendar. The calendar is made in one of your phone’s calendar accounts (usually iCloud), which may sync it to your other devices; we never receive it. GoalGetr deletes the calendar when you turn the setting off or sign out.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app (Profile, then the three-dot menu). Deleting your account also deletes your messages, your block list, the reports you made, and reports about your messages. See our data deletion page for everything that is deleted.
Some information is removed sooner, or kept differently:
- Messages: Messages on group message boards are deleted automatically 30 days after they are posted.
- Cheers and Nudges: Each one is deleted automatically 35 days after it is sent.
- Reports: We keep a report, including a copy of the reported message, while we review it. Once we have resolved a report, we delete it after 90 days.
- Team Notices: Slack deletes them automatically after one year.
- Steps Toward a Subscription: Each one is deleted automatically 13 months after it happens.
- Backups: Copies of our database, kept in case it needs restoring, are deleted after 30 days, so information you delete leaves them within that time.
- Purchase Records: Apple and RevenueCat keep records of purchases for as long as the law requires for financial recordkeeping, even after your GoalGetr account is deleted. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your Apple ID settings first.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities
- Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
You can get a copy of your data yourself: in the app, Profile, then Help & Legal, then Download My Data emails it to your account’s email address as a JSON file, which any text editor can open and other apps can read, once a week. It leaves out your password and other sign-in secrets, and other people’s data. For anything else, contact us.
Children’s Privacy
GoalGetr is made for families with teens and adults: accounts are for people 13 and older, and teens under 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s permission. Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
